How to Prep Garlic for Drying and Curing | Farm Fresh Tips

Here’s how we prep our garlic before hanging it in the barn to dry. A clean bulb is key! 

Before curing, we gently remove excess dirt and trim the roots to reduce the risk of mold. This simple step helps our garlic store longer and stay fresher through the season.

We cure our garlic for 2–4 weeks in a well-ventilated space. It usually is our barn until the outer skins are dry and papery. Don’t skip this step if you want quality storage garlic!
